MATCH DAY 35 PREDICTIONS by Nessi Nesta

MATCH DAY 35 PREDICTIONS by Nessi Nesta
Each passing game week, we get closer to the end of the season but there is still plenty to play for. Swansea and Hull City face must win fixtures; Chelsea could wrap it up if Tottenham Hotspurs bottle it when they take on the Gunners in the much anticipated London derby on Sunday evening and Antonio Conte’s men manage to stop Lukaku from scoring at Goodison Park.
Here are this week’s predictions
Tottenham v Arsenal- Sunday 6:30pm
Fireworks are expected in the 50th London derby between these two sides and the last one at White Hart Lane. A win for Spurs will guarantee them finishing above Arsenal in the league since 1995. Arsenal is getting results lately though not playing the best football but will need to be flawless to get anything from the Spurs side that is still unbeaten at home this season. Chelsea’s result at Everton in the earlier kick-off in the day will have a huge bearing on how events turn out in this one.
Nessi’s Prediction: 3-2                                                                                    El Patron’s Prediction: 3-1
Southampton v Hull City- Saturday 5:00pm
It’s Hull City away from home and this makes it the easiest fixture to predict this weekend. Marco Silva’s men just cannot win on the road and the fact that they haven’t won at St. Mary’s Stadium in 66 years makes the situation more complex. Southampton have their own struggles but the fighting spirit the exhibited against Chelsea in the midweek showed that they are still much interested in the season.
Nessi’s Prediction: 1-1                                                                                    El Patron’s Prediction: 2-0
Stoke City v West Ham United- Saturday 5:00pm
Both teams have been awful this season to say the least. Second season blues have had real toll on Slaven Bilic though he is shaping things up lately with a squad depleted by injuries. Stoke City have stagnated under Mark Hughes and I think a change in the gaffer during the summer will do them good. Their spending in recent transfer windows shows a team with bigger ambitions.
Nessi’s Prediction: 2-1                                                                                     El Patron’s Prediction: 2-1

Sunderland v Bournemouth- Saturday 5:00pm
It’s all but doomed for the Black cats and I think they are just going through motions until the end of the season. They have to match or better Hull City’s result at St. Mary’s stadium or they will be relegated this weekend. What Sunderland need is a long term plan otherwise relegation was always bound to happen.
Nessi’s Prediction: 1-1                                                                                            El Patron’s Prediction: 2-2

West Brom v Leicester- Saturday 5:00pm
The Baggies are already on holiday. They are not even half solid at the back like they have been all season. A loss to Leicester City will be the first time they have lost three consecutive matches at the Hawthorns.
The wheels seem to have gone off Shakespeare’s foxes but he will leading his team to a familiar ground where he spent a large part of his career both as a player and coach.
Nessi’s Prediction: 0-2                                                                                           El Patron’s Prediction: 1-2
Crystal Palace v Burnley – Saturday 5:00pm
Palace need one more win to secure safety and play host to a Burnley side that is yet to win on the road this season but more importantly haven’t won at Selhurst Park since 2001. Injuries in Palace’s backline most notably to Mamadou Sakho leave the defense devoid of steel and experience.
Nessi’s Prediction: 3-1                                                                                            El Patron’s Prediction: 1-0
Manchester United v Swansea City- Sunday 2:00pm
Manchester United’s nondescript display in the Manchester derby on Thursday night shows that Europa league is the priority for the Red Devils. Their injury list becomes longer each passing day with youngster Tim Fosu- Mensah the latest victim. Swansea City will head to the “Theatre of dreams” with some confidence having been victors on two occasions of their last four visits. United’s failure to see out games at Old Trafford will also have the Swans hoping at least a point.
Nessi’s Prediction: 2-0                                                                                           El Patron’s Prediction: 2-0
Middlesbrough v Manchester City – Sunday 4:05pm
Boro’s win over Sunderland in the midweek was their first one in 2017 and gives them the slimmest of hopes of survival. They host a City side that hasn’t won at the Teeside in the league since 1977 though in Gabriel Jesus the Citizens have a real threat in the box. Boro will be hard to break down but City will eventually overcome.
Nessi’s Prediction: 0-1                                                                                  El Patron’s Prediction:   0-2

Everton v Chelsea – Sunday 4:05pm
The Blues of London have a chance of going seven points clear with their closest title challengers playing later in the evening. Everton pose a threat though as it has been in fine form at home and have gotten better of Chelsea six times in their last ten meetings. Lukaku is just unstoppable at Goodison Park while Diego Costa is also back among the goals after a sort of drought spell. It will an entertaining fixture with goals pouring in.
Nessi’s Prediction: 2-3                                                                        El Patron’s Prediction: 1-3
